New for 2024: New entry for 2023

1973: Bruce’s scheduled gig opening for Paul Butterfield in Phoenix is cancelled due to low ticket sales.

1974: In the afternoon, Bruce stops by KLOL-FM for the second day in a row, this time with the band. They play an extended on-air set that includes “The Fever,” a local radio favorite.

That night, the boys play two shows at Liberty Hall.

1975: Violinist Suki Lahav makes her last appearance with Bruce and the E Street Band when the Wild & Innocent Tour wraps up at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.

1985: On this week’s edition of American Top 40, host Casey Kasem regales listeners with tales of Bruce’s Monopoly prowess while introducing his latest chart-climber, “I’m on Fire.”

1988: Bruce and the E Street Band play the second of two nights at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, where “Raise Your Hand” closes the show in its first appearance in seven years.

1992: MTV debuts Bruce’s new video for “Human Touch” at 9pm Eastern Time, and then plays it every hour on the hour through 4pm the following day.

2000: The Reunion Tour’s Florida swing continues with a show at the National Car Rental Center in Sunrise.

2003: Bruce grants an interview to 60 Minutes Australia at his home in New Jersey.

2005: Bruce rehearses for his upcoming solo tour at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park.

2006: Another tour rehearsal at the Paramount, this time with the Sessions Band.

2012: Bruce and the E Street Band play a historic show at the Apollo Theater in New York City. Jake Clemons makes his E Street Band debut (this is the band’s first show without Clarence), and to ease the transition, the band now features a full horn section. The show itself is semi-private, sponsored by SiriusXM and broadcast live. This show will eventually kick off the official archive series of releases in 2014, and it is well worth owning–go get it!

2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. Patti is not present tonight, so Bruce plays “Long Time Comin’” and “The Ghost of Tom Joad” in place of “Tougher Than the Rest” and “Brilliant Disguise.

2022: Bruce reminisces about his legendary Apollo Theater show on its tenth anniversary, with E Street Radio host Jim Rotolo.

2023: Columbus fans are dejected when Bruce is forced to postpone his show at Nationwide arena to September due to illness. But hey, it’s only a six month wait, right? (As of this writing the show has yet to happen due to repeated postponement.)
