New for 2024: New entry for 2023
1971: Bruce sits in with Steve Van Zandt and The Big Bad Bobby Williams Band (which included Garry Tallent, Dave Sancious, and Southside Johnny) at The Upstage in Asbury Park.
1972: The Bruce Springsteen Band completes a three-night gig at The Captain’s Garter in Neptune, New Jersey.
1974: Bruce and the (still unnamed) E Street Band open for Freddie King at Muther’s Music Emporium in Nashville.
1981: Arriving in St. Paul early in the morning, two days before their scheduled show, Bruce and the band enjoy a couple of days off in the Twin Cities (except for Roy, who has an ear infection). Bruce spends the evening playing pool and pinball at a bar called Zoogies, where he catches a local band called The Suburbs.
1997: Night Three (of four) in Tokyo on Bruce’s first solo acoustic tour.
1998: Bruce rehearses for a benefit concert in Red Bank for a New Jersey police officer murdered two months earlier.
2017: Immediately following President Trump’s first attempt to enact a Muslim ban, Bruce and the E Street Band play Adelaide, Australia, where Bruce makes a public statement against the ban, tailors the set list to the occasion, and dedicates songs to detainees. The set list also includes a cover of Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl,” notable primarily for the fans dressed as classic American television characters who requested it (a plan years in the making). Richie Sambora joins the band for encores of “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” and “Shout.”
2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.
2021: Bruce chats with Clive Davis at Clive’s virtual pre-Grammy party.
2023: Bruce and the E Street Band rehearse for their upcoming tour opener at Amalie Arena in Tampa.
