New for 2023: Audio for 1980; video for 2007, 2012, and 2016

1971: The Bruce Springsteen Band is in residence at the Student Prince in Asbury Park.

1978: Bruce and the E Street Band bring the Darkness Tour to the Dane County Memorial Coliseum in Madison, Wisconsin.

1980: On Black Friday, Bruce and the band play their second of two nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This show features a very unusual “Ramrod“/”Living on the Edge of the World” (the latter of which hadn’t even been released) mashup, as well as the tour premiere of “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy).”

1999: The first leg of the Reunion Tour enters its last stand when Bruce and the E Street Band play their first of two nights at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The holidays must be approaching–Bruce closes the show with the tour premiere of “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town.”

2007: Bruce and the band play a fantastic Magic show in Milan to an Italian crowd that’s on fire. For more highlights from this show, see my Where the Band Was report.

2008: Bruce releases “My Lucky Day,” the second single from his upcoming album, Working on a Dream.

2012: Bruce continues shaking up the Wrecking Ball set list at the Rose Garden in Portland, opening with “Land of Hope and Dreams,” and featuring rare outings for “Loose Ends,” “Seeds,” and “Drive All Night.” For more highlights from this show, see my Where the Band Was report.

2016: Bruce resumes his promotional book tour, making an appearance at Books-a-Million in Chicago.

2018: Springsteen on Broadway begins the final leg of its theatrical run (minus Patti, who is absent tonight). In attendance: Patterson Hood of the Drive-By Truckers.
