1968: The Castiles headline two shows at the Off Broad Street Coffee House in Red Bank, New Jersey. Jeannie Clark opens for the band; she will later join Dr. Zoom and the Sonic Boom as a Zoomette.
1969: Child plays their third of six consecutive nights at the Pandemonium in Wanamassa, New Jersey.
1970: Steel Mill headlines at Asbury Park’s Sunshine In, with a setlist that features “Garden State Parkway Blues,” “Sherlock Goes Holmes,” and “KT-88.”
1974: Bruce and the E Street Band play two shows at Le Garage in Spray Beach, New Jersey.
1982: Bruce joins Joe Grushecky and the Iron City Houserockers on stage for the first time when Joe plays Big Man’s West in Red Bank.
1984: On Night Two at the Rosemont Horizon near Chicago, Bruce tour premieres “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” and “Because the Night.” Watch news coverage and footage below.
1988: The Tunnel of Love Tour arrives in Munich, where “Badlands” makes its tour premiere.
2003: Night Two (of ten!) at the legendary Giants Stadium stand of the Rising Tour is a standard one, but shake-ups are on their way.
2004: Bruce, Patti, and Soozie join Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers on stage at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park.
2008: The Magic Tour’s Spanish leg continues with a show in Madrid, featuring a rare performance of “Cover Me.”
2011: Bruce makes a guest appearance at J.T. Bowen and The Sensational Soul Cruisers’ tribute to Clarence Clemons at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park. The setlist highlights: long-awaited returns of “Action in the Streets” (the first in 34 years) and “Savin’ Up” (the first in 24 years).
2012: “Before we were so rudely interrupted…” Bruce picks up in Dublin where he left off–or rather, was cut off–at Hyde Park, bringing his own mock generator on stage, flipping the switch to “ON” and finishing “Twist and Shout” from the previous show. He then launches directly into “I Fought the Law,” a very appropriate tour premiere. Other tour premieres include “I’m a Rocker” and “My Hometown.”
2018: Netflix films a special invitation-only performance of Springsteen on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. The show features two special encores (“The Ghost of Tom Joad” and “Long Time Comin’“) and will be released on the streaming service to much acclaim later in the year.
2021: Springsteen on Broadway continues its limited return engagement at the St. James Theater in New York city, In attendance tonight: Danny DeVito and Adam Duritz.

Great Joy! Txs for your great 2 Clips of Munich-Riem 1988. Was there with my wife and our three young boys. 31/2 h, 32 Songs, the Weather was terrible the whole day/ evening, rain, rain, rain. Bruce came out, bare arms, no jacket, nothing, he went out on this small frontpart of the stage, into the heavy pouring rainshower, pointed the middlefinger to the dark clouds and said: “Nice weather, guys”. Unforgettable. Badlands, btw, was so enthusiastically received, that he also presented it 2 days after at the concert in East-Berlin.
