1970: Steel Mill headlines at the Rumson-Fairhaven Regional High School Junior-Senior Prom at the Regency Hotel in Lakewood, New Jersey.
1978: Bruce and the E Street Band bring the Darkness Tour to the Sports Arena in Toledo, Ohio.
1981: At the final night of a six-night stand at London’s Wembley Arena on the River Tour, Bruce plays “Jole Blon” for the very first time. This show is available for purchase as part of Bruce’s official archive series–get it here.
1985: Night Two at St. James Park in Newcastle on the Born in the U.S.A. Tour features the European debuts of “Darlington County” and “Shut Out the Light.”
1992: Bruce and his new band (plus Stevie and Patti) play a rehearsal show–only four days after they first began rehearsing together–broadcast live from Hollywood Center Studios Soundstage. For more highlights from this show, see today’s Where the Band Was guest blog.
1993: Bruce attends Mariah Carey’s wedding to Tommy Mottola, president of Sony Music in Manhattan.
1999: The Reunion Tour moves on to Spain, with a single show at Estadio la Romareda in Zaragoza. Watch local coverage of the bands arrival below.
2006: Bruce and the Sessions Band appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Later that night (the Tonight Show tapes during the day), the band plays a show at the Greek Theater in L.A., where Roy Bittan guest-stars on “Pay Me My Money Down.” Two videos of “How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live” below, both pro-shot–one from the Tonight Show and one from the concert.
2007: Bruce releases his Live in Dublin album.
2009: Swedish fans at the second of three Working on a Dream shows in Stockholm are treated to the tour premiere of “Lost in the Flood” and the first of only three performances ever of “Queen of the Supermarket.”
2016: Bruce returns to Wembley Stadium in London, opening with two tour premieres: “Does this Bus Stop at 82nd Street” and “Seeds.” Other highlights include the tour premiere of “I’ll Work for Your Love” (acoustic), and a dedication of “Tougher Than the Rest” to the late, great Muhammad Ali.
2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.
2022: Bruce makes a surprise guest appearance with Coldplay at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, duetting with Chris Martin on “Working on a Dream” and “Dancing in the Dark.”
