New for 2024: Review for 2008; video for 2016; audio for 2021; new entry for 2023

1974: Bruce and the E Street Band headline a show at Widener College.

1976: The Chicken Scratch Tour moves on to  a three-show Ohio swing, starting with a show at the Ohio Theater in Columbus.

1988: Night Two at the Capital Center in Largo, Maryland, along the Tunnel of Love Express Tour.

1995: A busy day for Bruce and the (temporarily) reunited E Street Band: First, they make an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, where they premiere “Secret Garden.”

…and then later that night, they play a private gig at Sony Music Studios in New York City. Highlights include the debuts of “I’m Turning Into Elvis,” “Blood Brothers,” and the first full-band “This Hard Land.”

2006: Bruce and the Sessions Band rehearse for their upcoming tour at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park.

2007: Bruce makes a surprise appearance at a Carnegie Hall benefit show, Celebrating the Music of Bruce Springsteen: Music for Youth, joining Craig Finn, Jesse Malin, and Badly Drawn Boy on stage.

2008: Another radio station contest to pick a song for the set list–this time “Fire” is the winner for this Magic Tour stop at HP Pavilion in San Jose. “Out in the Street” and “Bobby Jean” make their tour debut tonight as well.

2009: Bruce continues tinkering with the set list on the third night of the Working on a Dream Tour in Austin, with seven tour premieres, including a rare “I’m a Rocker” and “Sherry Darling.”

2016: At a River Tour stop in Dallas, things get a little out of hand during “Dancing in the Dark.”

2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. Patti isn’t present tonight, so theatergoers get the “B” setlist featuring “Long Time Comin’” and “The Ghost of Tom Joad” in place of “Brilliant Disguise” and “Tougher Than the Rest.”

2021: Bruce and President Barack Obama release the final episode of their Spotify podcast, Renegades: Born in the U.S.A. This episode is entitled “The Rising: Looking Towards American Renewal” and features an acoustic performance of “Born in the U.S.A.

2023: For the fourth show in a row, Bruce introduces a tour debut into his mostly static World Tour setlist. Tonight, “Atlantic City” premieres at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland.
