1976: Bruce, Steve, Roy, and David Sancious drop by The Stone Pony, where they join Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes on stage for several numbers.

1979: The last night of the Darkness Tour in Richfield is also the longest. The 31-song setlist is highlighted by fond farewells (for a time, at least): “The Fever” and “Meeting Across the River” won’t appear again for two decades, and “Streets of Fire” will be absent for 24 years.

1987: Bruce releases “Fire,” his latest single from the Live 1975-85 box set collection.

2000: On the first day of the new millennium, American Top 40 host Casey Kasem recounts the most memorable hits and events in rock and roll history, including Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.
