1953: Original E Street Band member David Sancious is born in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

1973: A scheduled show at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond is postponed to January.

1974: Bruce and the E Street Band play their second of two nights at the War Memorial Theater in Trenton.

1980: Bruce takes the River Tour to the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, where Bruce dedicates “The Promised Land” to Joe Grushecky.

1983: Bruce records “Roll Away the Stone,” “Swoop Man,” and “Under the Big Sky,” all of which remain unreleased to this day.

1984: Bruce and the E Street Band play their second of two nights at The Summit in Houston on the Born in the U.S.A. Tour.

1985: On this week’s episode of American Top 40, host Casey Kasem introduces Clarence’s new single with the story of how The Boss and The Big Man first met.

1992: Bruce and his new touring band bring World Tour 1992 to The Omni in Atlanta.

1995: Bruce plays his second of two nights at the Berkeley Community Theater, where “The New Timer” makes its debut, and the setlist contains the entire The Ghost of Tom Joad album. Once again, John Wesley Harding opens the show with a short set.

2007: Bruce comes down with a severe cold and postpones a scheduled show in Arnhem to the next day.

2012: The Wrecking Ball Tour travels down the west coast to Oakland for a show at Oracle Arena. Notables tonight include a rare full-band “Devils & Dust” a by-request “Pay Me My Money Down,” and a “Kitty’s Back” encore.

2016: Bruce continues his promotional book tour, stopping at Tattered Cover Bookstore in Denver to meet fans.

2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.
