1965: The Castiles play a show at the Firehouse in Hazlet, New Jersey.
1971: The Bruce Springsteen Band is in residence at the Student Prince in Asbury Park, joined by Southside Johnny, and this show (on or around this date) is captured on both audio and video. Sadly, the video footage will be destroyed sometime in the next few years, but you can listen to the audio soundboard recording below.
1975: Bruce and his girlfriend catch Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New Haven.
1984: Bruce catches The Red Rockers at the Rainbow Music Hall in Denver.
1992: World Tour 1992 arrives at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. Listen to a radio commercial and the opening song below.
1994: Bruce joins the 11th annual Love Ride motorcycle ride benefit for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation. At the race’s conclusion, Jackson Browne performs a concert, and Bruce joins Jackson during the third set.
1996: At his solo acoustic show in Syracuse, Bruce debuts a new song nine years before it will be officially released. Listen to the first performance of “The Hitter” below.
2005: Bruce plays a solo acoustic show on the Atlantic City Boardwalk (well, in Boardwalk Hall, at least), where rarities such as “Santa Ana,” “Fade Away,” “Thundercrack, “Drive All Night,” and “Janey Don’t You Lose Heart” make an appearance.
2009: The Working on a Dream Tour arrives in Detroit for a show at The Palace of Auburn Hills, but someone forgets to tell Bruce: he greets the crowd with a hearty “Good evening, Ohio!,” prompting much sheepish hilarity and worldwide news coverage (must have been a slow news day). Bruce performs the entire Born to Run album in sequence and covers “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” for the first time in seventeen years.
2014: Bruce’s friend and news anchor Brian Williams is inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, and Bruce performs the honor of inducting him.
2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. In attendance tonight: Sylvester Stallone, Benicio Del Toro, and Eddie Vedder.
