New for 2023: Review for 2010

1971: The Bruce Springsteen Band headlines a show at St. Jerome School in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Later in the evening (technically the wee hours of the following day), Bruce jams with local musicians at The Upstage in his last-ever appearance at the legendary club.

1972: Bruce and his new, unnamed band headline a Halloween show at the National Guard Armory in Long Branch for the second year in a row. Bruce performs “Thundercrack” for the first known time at this second show on the Greetings From Asbury Park Tour.

1973: Bruce headlines two shows at The Main Point in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

1974: Bruce and the band headline at the Boston Music Hall, with Dr. John opening. Bruce plays his last known performance of “Cupid” to date.

1975: Bruce and the E Street Band play to a small crowd (only 1,400 people out of 4,400 seats) at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.

1976: Something in the Night” continues to evolve as a work-in-progress at the second of six nights at the Palladium in New York City, where Gary U.S. Bonds makes his first-ever guest appearance during the encore for (what else?) “Quarter to Three.”

1984: On Night Four of seven at the L.A. Sports Arena, “Night” makes its one and only appearance on the Born in the U.S.A. Tour.

1990: Bruce jams with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers at Tom’s house in the San Fernando Valley. Roger McGuinn and Jeff Lynne are present as well.

1996: Bruce  wraps up the west coast leg of his solo acoustic tour at the Paramount Theater in Seattle.

2004: Bruce performs at a rally for presidential candidate John Kerry at the Bayfront Park Amphitheater in Miami.

2006: The Seeger Sessions Tour continues its Scandinavian swing with a stop at the Oslo Spektrum.

2007: Bruce and the E Street Band play their first of two nights at the L.A. Memorial Sports Arena on the Magic Tour.

2009: Bruce and the E Street Band headline the first night of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 25th Anniversary Concerts in New York City. Guest-stars abound: Sam Moore, Tom Morello, John Fogerty, Darlene Love, Billy Joel, Jackson Browne, and Peter Wolf. The show is commercially available and essential viewing.

2010: Bruce turns up at the National Film Theater in London for the premiere of The Promise.

2021: Bruce appears with former President Barack Obama (in a pre-recorded interview) on The Graham Norton Show.
