New for 2023: Video for 2012

1971: The Bruce Springsteen Band kicks off a residency at the Student Prince in Asbury Park that will last the rest of the calendar year.

1978: Bruce debuts his cover of “Hang Up My Rock and Roll Shoes” at his Darkness show in Saginaw.

1984: Bruce appears in and on the latest issue of People Magazine.

1992: Bruce’s World Tour 1992 visits Tinley Park, Illinois for the second of two nights, and CNN airs a segment on the end of the summer concert season.

1999: Bruce and the reunited E Street Band wrap up their three-night stand at the MCI Center in Washington, DC with an all-star guest-star line-up: Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby, Jackson Browne, Shawn Colvin, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Frank Bruno join the band for the encores.

2001: In their last public appearance before the nation changes forever, Bruce and Patti join Brian Kirk and the Jirks on-stage for four songs at Donovan’s Reef in Sea Bright, New Jersey. (The Jirks are the house band at the club.)

2012: Night Two at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park was a Labor Day special, opening with an acoustic tour premiere of “Factory” as part of a five-song Darkness on the Edge of Town mini-set. The show stayed intense all the way through, which may be why Bruce omitted setlisted gems like “Ain’t Good Enough for You,” “Love Train,” “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher,” “Incident on 57th Street,” and “My Love Will Not Let You Down.” What a show that would have been!

2016: A scheduled River Tour show in Virginia Beach is postponed for two days due to Tropical Storm Hermine.

2021: It’s the penultimate night for Springsteen on Broadway at the St. James Theater in New York City.
