New for 2023: Video for 1992
1966: The Castiles (along with Steve Van Zandt’s band, The Shadows) play the Surf ‘n’ See Club in Sea Bright, New Jersey.
1970: Steel Mill plays an outdoor show under the stars, on the parking deck at 7th and Marshall Streets in Richmond. Mercy Flight, a local band that includes future Steel Mill bandmate Robbin Thompson, plays just before Steel Mill, impressing Bruce enough that he will shortly extend Robbin an offer to join Steel Mill. Audio circulates of this show, including “The War is Over” and rare instrumental performances of “Sherlock Goes Holme” and “KT-88.” Check out a great retrospective of this show here,
1972: Bruce plays his third of six two-shows-a-night solo gigs at Max’s Kansas City that week.
1973: Bruce and the E Street Band play Uncle Al’s Erlton Theater Lounge in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Why was Bruce’s name so hard to spell correctly during these years?
1974: Dave Sancious and Boom Carter play their last two shows as members of the E Street Band, at the Monmouth Arts Center in Red Bank.
1975: Bruce’s legendary Bottom Line stand continues with a second night of two shows.
1978: The Darkness Tour descends on the Hampton Roads Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia, where Bruce opens with his live debut cover of “High School Confidential.”

1985: In the U.S., there’s arguably no city more fervent in their Bruce fandom than Philadelphia. Bruce and the band play their first of two shows at Veterans Stadium today, and anticipation has been high since the moment tickets went on-sale:
The show itself is a scorcher–literally, with the temperature topping 100 degrees–and it’s captured on video for bootleg posterity.
You’d be forgiven for thinking nothing else happened in the news today–here’s almost a half hour of newly uploaded news footage covering the event.
1987: Bruce joins The Fairlanes on-stage for four songs (including “Savin’ Up“) at The Deck House in Asbury Park.
1992: Bruce and his new touring band play their second of two World Tour 1992 shows at the Centrum in Worcester. Watch the extensive news coverage below.
1995: Bruce joins Ronnie Mack and the Barndance Band on stage at Jack’s Sugar Shack in Hollywood.
2002: The Rising Tour stops in Cleveland for a show at Gund Arena, where the set list remains unchanged from the previous two shows.
2012: Bruce and the E Street Band return to Boston’s Fenway Park to kick off the final American leg of the Wrecking Ball Tour. While Bruce tour premieres “Boom Boom” mid-set and “Dirty Water” in the encores, the set is otherwise fairly standard. The following night would more than make up for it. 2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.
2020: A special nocturnal-themed Episode 10 (“In Dreams”) of From My Home to Yours airs at midnight.
