Another great one gone too soon: Bruce Springsteen pays tribute to Glenn Frey, one day following his death on January 18, 2016.

“Take it Easy” was actually co-written by both Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne, and both The Eagles and Browne recorded it. The Eagles version came out first–it was, in fact, the band’s first single, released in 1972 and peaking at #12 on the Hot 100.

  1. I was there for the concert on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in Chicago at the United Center. In fact, I remember that it was the day after Martin Luther King Day and not having to be at work due to taking a four-day weekend for myself. I might have requested the day off for January 20 also to recover from a long night, as Bruce and the band were great on their second night of the new tour. Take It Easy was the first encore and a special tribute to Glenn Frey.
