New for 2023: New entry for 1974; review for 2002

1969: Child (now named Steel Mill, but using both names during their transition) makes a brief appearance at Monmouth College’s Vietnam Peace Offensive.

1971: The Bruce Springsteen Band is in residence at the Student Prince in Asbury Park.

1973: Bruce and the band that will someday be named E Street headline two shows at My Father’s Place in Roslyn, New York.

1974: A scheduled show at the Houston Music Hall on this date was cancelled and moved earlier to November 9th instead.

1978: Bruce and the boys play a Darkness show at Utica Memorial Auditorium.

1980: Bruce brings the River Tour to The Summit in Houston for the first of two nights.

1987: By way of introduction to Bruce’s rising “Brilliant Disguise” single, American Top 40 host Casey Kasem gives a dramatic re-enactment of a late night billboard defacement foray on the Darkness Tour.

1996: Bruce plays a solo acoustic show at the Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts, when the Ghost of Tom Joad Tour comes to town.

1999: Bruce and the reunited E Street Band play their first of two shows at the Gund Arena in Cleveland.

2002: Streets of Fire” makes a long-awaited return when the Rising Tour stops at Rupp Arena in Lexington. Until tonight, it hasn’t been played for almost 24 years.

2006: “Youngstown” sees its Seeger Sessions Tour premiere (as a duet with Frank Bruno) in fellow former steel town Sheffield, and “Froggie Went A-Courtin’” makes a rare appearance to close the show.

2007: Joe Grushecky makes a guest appearance when the Magic Tour comes to Pittsburgh’s Mellon Arena, joining Bruce for the tour premiere of “Code of Silence.” Bruce also tour premieres “Youngstown” in an acoustic arrangement.

2016: Bruce attends a party at Maialino in New York City, held by his publishers to celebrate the performance of his new book.

2017: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.

2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. In attendance tonight: original E Street Band member Vini Lopez.

2020: After consuming two shots of tequila with some friendly fans, Bruce is arrested at the Gateway National Recreation Area in Sandy Hook for driving while intoxicated–even though a breathalyzer test proves that Bruce’s blood alcohol level is a mere fraction of the amount required to qualify as intoxicated. The incident will remain unpublicized until early the following year.

2022: Bruce appears via remote interview on The Project in Australia,Totemic in France, and CBC Radio 2 in Canada. That evening, Bruce joins Jimmy Fallon for the first of a multi-night Tonight Show “takeover,” debuting “Do I love You (Indeed I Do).”
