So for this show at the Mohegan Sun Cas<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">ino(!) in Uncasville, CT (certainly one of the most unusual venues I&#8217;ve seen Bruce play)&#8211;the penultimate show of the High Hopes tour&#8211;I&#8217;ll go with&#8230; jaw-dropping-est.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>Because there&#8217;s just no way I could have predicted:<\/p>\n<p>* opening with the debut of the outtake (&#8220;&#8217;78&#8221; version) of &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/estreetshuffle.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/03\/roll-of-the-dice-racing-in-the-street\/\">Racing in the Street<\/a>.&#8221; (Sort of, anyway&#8211;after so many years of performing the released version, he had a really hard time sticking to the outtake arrangement and basically ended up with a hybrid.)<\/p>\n<div id=\"v-HZEm5bpm-1\" class=\"video-player\"><iframe title='VideoPress Video Player' aria-label='VideoPress Video Player' width='758' height='426' src='https:\/\/videopress.com\/embed\/HZEm5bpm?hd=1&amp;cover=1&amp;loop=0&amp;autoPlay=0&amp;permalink=1&amp;muted=0&amp;controls=1&amp;playsinline=0&amp;useAverageColor=0&amp;preloadContent=metadata' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen data-resize-to-parent=\"true\" allow='clipboard-write'><\/iframe><script data-jetpack-boost=\"ignore\" src='https:\/\/s0.wp.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/video\/assets\/js\/next\/videopress-iframe.js'><\/script><\/div>\n<p>* a mid-set 1970s encore throwback of &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/estreetshuffle.com\/index.php\/2021\/05\/21\/cover-me-raise-your-hand\/\">Raise Your Hand<\/a>&#8221; (the second E Street Band performance ever), &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/estreetshuffle.com\/index.php\/2019\/02\/26\/roll-of-the-dice-talk-to-me\/\">Talk to Me<\/a>&#8221; (ninth ever)\u00a0 and &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/estreetshuffle.com\/index.php\/2019\/09\/23\/roll-of-the-dice-the-price-you-pay\/\">The Price You Pay<\/a>&#8221; (only the fourth time since 1981), along with the fourth-ever outing for &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/estreetshuffle.com\/index.php\/2018\/02\/12\/roll-of-the-dice-frankie-fell-in-love\/\">Frankie Fell in Love<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; and &#8220;Thunder Road&#8221;)&#8211;I&#8217;m not sure that&#8217;s ever happened before or since on an E Street Band tour.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; It was only the first night of a two-night final stand. Night One is traditionally a relatively standard set; Night Two is the pull-out-all-the stops, shock-and-awe performance. And it actually was\u00a0<em>supposed to be<\/em> a standard set&#8211;Bruce ended up calling audibles for\u00a0<em>twelve\u00a0<\/em>of the standards in favor of the wildcards and rarities.<\/p>\n<p>So how in the world would he try to top this show on Night Two?
