For a brief shining moment, it felt like the E Street Band had reunited.<\/p>\n

Toward the tail end of Bruce’s 1996 solo acoustic tour, Bruce played three shows at Asbury Park’s Paramount Theatre. While the shows were acoustic as advertised, the solo part… not so much.<\/p>\n

Bruce had “special guests” join him for parts of the set each night, and by the last night Bruce was rarely alone on stage.<\/p>\n

One of the many highlights from that final night: Steve Van Zandt joining Bruce for a unique arrangement of “I Don’t Want to Go Home,” backed by Danny Federici on accordion, Richard Blackwell on congas, and Patti Scialfa and Soozie Tyrell on backing vocals.<\/p>\n
