1972: The Bruce Springsteen Band plays at The Back Door in Richmond.
1974: Bruce cancels a concert in Cleveland after firing drummer Vini Lopez a week earlier.
1975: Bruce and the E Street Band play a gig at John Carroll University in Cleveland. Tim Russert organized the concert; Tim will later go on to host Meet the Press for many years.
1981: The River Tour continues its Florida leg with a stop at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Eavesdrop on the soundcheck below.
1984: Bruce and Nils jam at Bruce’s house and listen to the just-completed Born in the U.S.A. album. At some point, they watch TV and see MTV announce Steve Van Zandt’s departure from the band. Nils puts in a good word for himself that will pay off not that far down the road.
1993: MTV Plugged (the video release) is certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
1996: Bruce wraps up the German leg of his European solo acoustic tour with a show in Dusseldorf.
2016: The River (2016) Tour moves on to Philips Arena in Atlanta.
2017: Bruce closes his Australian summer tour with a show at Hunter Valley that features rare performances of “I Fought the Law” and “None But the Brave.”
2023: Jake is still out of action with COVID-19 as Bruce and the E Street Band bring their 2023 World Tour to Kansas City. Bruce breaks the news with his usual good humor during “Ghosts.”
