1973: Bruce cancels a scheduled show in Willimantic, Connecticut only a day or two before the show.
1975: Bruce and the E Street Band bring the now red-hot Born to Run Tour to the State University of New York in Oswego.
1978: Less famous than its Night One counterpart, Bruce’s second Darkness show at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco is still a great show. “Rendezvous” makes its tour premiere early in the set (dedicated to Greg Kihn, who scored a minor hit with his cover), and “Fire” will eventually be officially released in Live 1975-85. 1980: At Night Two at the Boston Garden on the original River Tour, Bruce tour premieres “Spirit in the Night” and plays “Crush on You” for the last time for 28 years.
1984: Bruce and the E Street Band start their last Born in the U.S.A. stand of the year at The Omni in Atlanta, where Little Steven guest stars for the entire encore set.
1992: Joe Grushecky joins Bruce and his new touring band for “Glory Days‘ and “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” when World Tour 1992 stops at Pittsburgh’s Civic Arena.
1995: At Night Two at the Orpheum Theater in Boston on the Ghost of Tom Joad Tour, Bruce plays “Brothers Under the Bridge” for the first time ever, as well as the tour premiere of “The Promised Land,” which will evolve as the tour goes on and become a staple of Bruce’s acoustic performances.
1997: Bruce throws a Christmas party at McLoone’s Rum Runner in Sea Bright and joins Bobby Bandiera as the evening’s entertainment.
2002: Bruce and the E Street Band bring the Rising Tour to the Value City Arena in Columbus, where Bruce plays a gorgeous solo piano “If I Should Fall Behind” and a “Glory Days”/”Hang on Sloopy” mash-up.
2008: Bruce releases “The Wrestler,” the third single from his upcoming album, Working on a Dream.
2017: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. In attendance tonight: actress Laura Dern.
2018: At the stroke of midnight, Netflix starts the day by releasing the streaming video version of Springsteen on Broadway.
2020: E Street Radio premieres Volume 16 of Bruce’s From My Home to Yours radio show, entitled “Hits of the Week.”
