New for 2024: Video for 1995

1973: Bruce and his band-with-no-name headline an intimate show (less than 200 were in attendance) at the Pinecrest Country Club in Shelton, Connecticut.

1974: Bruce attends his second Billy Joel concert in three weeks, this time at Rutgers University, where Billy dedicates “The Entertainer” to Bruce. During the encores, Bruce joins Billy on stage for “Twist and Shout.” After the show, Bruce walks over to the Rutgers Student Center, where he jams with the band Heavy Trucking into the wee hours of the morning.

1984: Bruce and the band play their second of two Born in the U.S.A. shows at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, where Little Steven makes a surprise appearance, joining the band for the last six songs, including a beautiful version of “Drift Away.”

1992: Peter Wolf makes a guest appearance during Bruce’s second World Tour 1992 show at Boston Garden, joining the band for a show-closing tour premiere of “In the Midnight Hour“–the last time Bruce will play this song on tour for 20 years. Watch it below.

1995: Bruce performs “Youngstown” on Late Show with David Letterman in New York City.

1996: Bruce plays his last show of the year in Charlotte as the Ghost of Tom Joad Tour wraps its fall leg.

1998: Bruce is interviewed and performs “Born in the U.S.A.” and “This Hard Land” on Spanish television show Musica Si in Madrid.

2016: Bruce makes an appearance at Carnegie Hall for Sting and Trudie Styler’s Rainforest Fund Concert. Bruce plays three songs, including a “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” duet with Lisa Fischer, and joins the evening’s artists (including Darlene Love, Ronnie Spector, Idina Menzel, James Taylor, and more) for a Christmas carol encore. 2017: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.

2018: Bruce releases the soundtrack album for Springsteen on Broadway. Plus: It’s the penultimate show for the theatrical run of Springsteen on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. In attendance tonight: actress Mariska Hargitay and singer-songwriter Joe Sumner.
