New for 2024: Article for 1984; review for 2003; video for 2013

1971: The Bruce Springsteen Band is in residence at the Student Prince in Asbury Park.

1982: Bruce makes a guest appearance with Dave Edmunds on six songs at Big Man’s West in Red Bank.

1984: Bruce and the E Street Band close out their six-night Born in the U.S.A. stand at the Philadelphia Spectrum by tour premiering “I Fought the Law” and “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” (the first time they’ve ever played that song earlier than autumn).

1985: Bruce plays “Stolen Car” for the last time for 18 years when he and the band play their first of two Born in the U.S.A. shows at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

1996: At his solo acoustic show in Wallingford, Bruce plays a one-off “My Father’s House” by request.

2003: Another great show on Night Two in Hartford, with Bruce opening his Rising Show with the first-ever E Street Band performance of “Souls of the Departed,” the tour premiere of “Factory,” and a solo piano “Incident on 57th Street.”

2006: Bruce rehearses with the Sessions Band for their upcoming European tour.

2007: Bruce rehearses with the E Street Band for their upcoming Magic tour.

2013: The Wrecking Ball Tour enters its last week with the first of two shows in Brazil, this one in Sao Paolo. Bruce opens with the premiere of Raul Seixas’ “Sociedade Alternativa.”

2016: CBS Sunday Morning airs a profile of Bruce as part of the promotional push for his upcoming autobiography.
