New for 2024: Video for 1985 and 2008

1973: Bruce and his band play their second of three consecutive nights at Fat City in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

1974: Bruce and the E Street Band play two shows on their third of three consecutive nights at Le Garage on Long Beach Island.

1978: In town a day early for his Darkness Tour stop, Bruce drops by the Paramount Theater in Portland, Oregon to catch Warren Zevon’s performance. He joins Zevon for “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead,” the final encore of the evening.

1985: The Born in the U.S.A. Tour arrives in France for the first of four shows, this one at Stade Richter in Montpellier.

1999: Bruce and the reunited E Street Band stop in Stockholm for the first of two shows.

2000: Night Six of Ten at Madison Square Garden features a rare “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy),” as the Reunion Tour’s last stand continues.

2005: Bruce plays “Fade Away” for the first time in 24 years at his Devils & Dust show in Gothenburg.

2006: Conan O’Brien, Thomas Haden Church, Jimmy Fallon, and the Max Weinberg 7 join the Sessions Band in a rousing rendition of “Pay Me My Money Down” on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Bruce also performs “Bring ’em Home.”

2008: Bruce tour premieres “I’m a Rocker” as an encore during his Magic Tour stop in Antwerp.

2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.

  1. My wife and I were at both the Zevon concert that night and Bruce’s the next night. It was exciting to see the encore.

    We also attended the Christmas tour concert in December. It’s the only time that Bruce has played in Portland more than once in a year.
