1973: Bruce and his band open for Chicago at the Civic Center in Springfield.

1978: When the Darkness Tour stops in Bloomington, Minnesota, snippets of several songs are filmed on Super-8 film by fans.

1984: Bruce and Nils join Cats on a Smooth Surface at the band’s Stone Pony gig.

1988: Bruce and the E Street Band play a warm-up set at Stadio Comunale in Turin, the day before the kick-off of the European leg of the Tunnel of Love Tour.

2003: Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” makes its first post-Reunion appearance at Bruce’s Rising show in Munich. Bruce opens the show with a solo acoustic “Born in the U.S.A.” and plays “Jackson Cage” in Germany for the first time.

Also on this date in 2003: the BBC premieres a three-part series narrated by Johnnie Walker, profiling Bruce’s life and career.

2006: The Seeger Sessions Tour stops at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.

2009: At Night Two in Bergen on the Working on a Dream Tour, Bruce treats Norwegian fans to the tour premieres of “Boom Boom” and “Two Hearts.

2012: The Italian leg of the Wrecking Ball Tour continues with a show at Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence, where fans witness the tour premieres of “Be True” and “Burning Love.”

2013: Bruce arrives in London for his Wrecking Ball show and sings “The Promised Land” (in support of ONE) with an acoustic guitar from the balcony of MTV Networks Europe. Watch the performance below–the video is wonderfully shot and recorded.

2018: Bruce receives a special Tony Award from Billy Joel for Springsteen on Broadway. He performs “My Hometown” at the televised ceremonies (introduced by Robert De Niro), along with an abridged version of its introduction from the show.

2021: Bruce phones in to E Street Radio and talks about the upcoming return of Springsteen on Broadway.

2023: On their last night before resuming their European tour, Bruce and Stevie catch Peter Gabriel on stage in Cologne.
