1982: Bruce catches Cats on a Smooth Surface performing at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, but he does not take the stage.
1988: Night Three (of five) for the Tunnel of Love Express Tour at the L.A. Sports Arena.
1989: At Micky Rourke’s Rubber Club in Los Angeles, Bruce joins a local band on stage for “Stand By Me.”
1996: Elliott Murphy and Joe Grushecky join Bruce for a final encore of “Blowin’ Down This Road” at Bruce’s second solo acoustic show at Brixton Academy in London.
2000: The first of two Reunion shows at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh features the first E Street Band performance of “Human Touch” and a Joe Grushecky guest appearance on “Idiot’s Delight.”
2004: Bruce plays a benefit for Rumson Country Day School (along with Patti, Southside Johnny, and Bobby Bandiera) for the third year running at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park.
2005: Bruce kicks off his solo acoustic tour with a show at the Fox Theater in Detroit.
2006: Bruce releases We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions and appears on Good Morning America to promote the album and upcoming tour.
That evening, a more awake Bruce and the Sessions Band play a third public warm-up show for their upcoming tour. Notable in the set list: Bruce’s first-ever performance and tour one-off of “Turn! Turn! Turn (To Everything There is a Season).”
2008: The Magic Tour moves to Atlanta for a show at Philips Arena, where “Blinded by the Light” makes its tour premiere.
2016: The closing night of the first U.S. leg of the River Tour (2016 version) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn brings the tour premieres of “Boom Boom” and “Trapped” along with a reprise of Bruce’s “Purple Rain” tribute, a rare “Loose Ends,” and an adorable fan singalong to “Blinded by the Light.”
2019: After days of teasing and speculation, Bruce officially announces his next album, Western Stars, coming in June.
