1950: Founding E Street Band member “Phantom” Dan Federici is born in Flemington, New Jersey.
1971: At the Upstage in Asbury Park, Steel Mill plays its final gig. Listen in on three songs from that show below.
1972: Bruce sits in with the Sundance Blues Band at The Captain’s Garter in Neptune, New Jersey.
1981: The original River Tour continues its Canadian leg with a stop at the Montreal Forum. The show is captured on video–the quality isn’t great (it’s 1981, after all), but it’s quite watchable.
1985: Night One in Providence on the Born in the U.S.A. Tour.
1996: Bruce performs solo at the Jesse H. Jones Hall for the Performing Arts in Houston.
2010: Backed by Bobby Bandiera and his band, Bruce plays a benefit for his kids’ school at the Stone Pony, with guest appearances by Patti, Southside, and Brian Williams.
2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. In attendance tonight: U2 frontman Bono.
