1971: The Bruce Springsteen Band headlines at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. Their setlist features the last known performance of “Mary Louise Watson.”
1973: Bruce and his band kick off a three-night stand at the Student Prince in Asbury Park, Bruce’s first official gig in that club in almost exactly two years.
1975: The Born to Run Tour barrels into the holiday stretch with no signs of slowing down. Tonight, Bruce and the band play at Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo.

1992: World Tour 1992 wraps up at Rupp Arena in Lexington, where Garry Tallent makes a guest appearance on “Glory Days” and “Bobby Jean.” Bruce and the band will be back on the road in 1993, but “Cover Me” won’t be heard again for a decade, “I Wish I Were Blind” disappears for 11 years, and “The Big Muddy” will never be heard from again.
1995: After a brief side trip to Boston, Bruce closes out his solo acoustic stand at the Beacon Theater in New York City, where he plays “The Wish” for the first time since he debuted it at the Christic shows five years earlier.
2000: Bruce launches a tradition that will continue for several years to come, calling on friends to help throw a big holiday concert at Asbury Park’s Convention Hall to benefit local charities. On hand are the Max Weinberg 7, Danny, Garry, Roy, Patti (who debuts new music), Soozie, Steve, Nils, Clarence, Southside, Lisa Lowell, and Bobby Bandiera. In the encores, Bruce debuts a brand new song, “My City of Ruins,” written for and dedicated to Asbury Park. Before a year is up, however, the song will grow and take on new meaning and resonance to a wider audience.
2002: Bruce closes out the 2002 leg of the Rising Tour at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, where he tour premieres a rare “Loose Ends.”
2007: Elliott Murphy guest stars on “Dancing in the Dark” when the Magic Tour stops for a night in Paris.
2015: Bruce and the E Street Band rehearse for their upcoming Saturday Night Live appearance at Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center. Later, Bruce goes to Studio 6B in the same building to be interviewed by Jimmy Fallon for The Tonight Show.
