New for 2023: Video for 2019

1971: The Bruce Springsteen Band headlines at Asbury Park’s Sunshine In.

1976: Bruce and the E Street Band wrap up their six-night stand at the Monmouth Arts Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. Clips from the show can be seen in the box set and documentary, The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town.

1978: The Darkness Tour stop in Kalamazoo underperforms in ticket sales, with over half of the seats at Wings Stadium going unoccupied.

1981: Bruce and the E Street Band wrap up their three-night stand at the Capital Center in Largo, Maryland.

1982: Bruce joins Beaver Brown on stage at Big Man’s West in Red Bank, where he debuts a work-in-progress, “Downbound Train” in the middle of “Lucille.” (Skip to the 21 minute-mark below to hear it.)

1984: Born in the U.S.A. is certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

1985: The stadium leg of the Born in the U.S.A. Tour picks up steam at Cleveland Municipal Stadium, where Bruce tour debuts “This Land is Your Land.

1992: At the penultimate show of World Tour 1992’s eleven-night stand at the Meadowlands, Bruce and Roy play a tour one-off, an intimate “For You.” “Racing in the Street” is also a tour one-off, and Southside Johnny guest-stars on “All the Way Home.”

1999: Bruce stuns fans at the Meadowlands when he opens Night Twelve (of fifteen) with the first “Don’t Look Back” in 22 years. Bruce also plays “Janey, Don’t You Lose Heart” for only the third time ever.

2002: The Rising Tour officially kicks off and Soozie Tyrell makes her official E Street Band debut at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, with essentially the same set as the rehearsal show in the same venue. Early shows on the “barnstorming” leg would be atypically rigid, with little variation from night to night.

2005: Bruce opens his solo acoustic show at Milwaukee’s Bradley Center with the tour premiere (and tour one-off) of “Shut Out the Light” and follow up shortly thereafter with the tour premiere of “Frankie.”

2019: Bruce attends the premiere of Blinded by the Light at Convention Hall in Asbury Park. Following the show, Bruce, Patti, and Lisa Lowell join Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes on stage at the after-party for four songs, including “Talk to Me” and “Sherry Darling.”

One Reply to “Kingdom of Days: August 7”

  1. Seems the above clip of “Talk to Me” is actually from July 6, 2019 at the Stone Pony, not Convention Hall, August 7.
