New for 2023: Audio for 1976

1969: Child performs at the Pandemonium in Wanamassa, New Jersey.

1971: The Green Mermaid coffee house (underneath The Upstage) in Asbury Park plays host to the “Bruce Springsteen Acoustyc Jam.”

1974: Bruce Springsteen meets future manager Jon Landau when Landau spots Bruce reading his review of The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle during the break between two shows at Charlie’s Place in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

1976: As a favor to John Hammond, Bruce performs at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut.

1982: Bruce sits in with Beaver Brown for four songs at Big Man’s West in Red Bank.

1985: The Born in the U.S.A. Tour kicks off its Japanese leg with the first of five nights at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo. Watch the local news and MTV coverage below.

1996: Bruce begins an Italian mini-tour with a solo acoustic show at the Auditorium Santa Cecilia in Rome. Before the show, Bruce meets one of his favorite composers, Ennio Morricone, for the first time.

2001: Bruce’s 1998 U.K. legal victory against Masquerade Music is upheld by the Court of Appeal. Masquerade had imported and released an album of unreleased Springsteen songs without the artist’s permission.

2005: Bruce plays a benefit show with local musicians (including Bobby Bandiera and Ed Manion) for Rumson Country Day School, where his kids went to school. Southside Johnny and Patti Scialfa join the band on stage at times, too. Check out the fantastic recording below.

2009: The Working on a Dream Tour comes to Denver, along with four tour premieres including “Racing in the Street,” “Tougher Than the Rest,” “The E Street Shuffle,” and “The Ties That Bind.”

2014: Bruce inducts the E Street Band (past and present) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Barclays Center in New York City. Following the speeches, the band plays three songs, with both Max and Vini on drums and with David Sancious on organ. Watch the proceedings below.

2016: A scheduled show in Greensboro is cancelled due to the state’s adoption of an anti-transgender law.

2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.

2021: Bruce visits John Mellencamp at his studio in Belmont, Indiana, where he contributes to three tracks for John’s upcoming album, Strictly a One-Eyed Jack.
