New for 2023: No updates

1970: A scheduled Steel Mill gig in Long Branch at the aptly named First Annual Nothing’s Festival is cancelled when the event’s local venues become ensnared in a web of regulatory oversight.

1974: Bruce places a famous ad in the Village Voice classifieds. Among the respondents: Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg.

1975: Backstreets” is played for the first time ever, as the Born to Run Tour begins to pick up steam in Akron, Ohio. “Then She Kissed Me” also makes its tour premiere tonight.

1982: Bruce joins Cats on a Smooth Surface on stage at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park for seven songs, including a work-in-progress (and never released) “On the Prowl” and covers of “Ready Teddy,” “Come On, Let’s Go,” and “Come On Over to My Place.”

1984: Bruce and the E Street Band play their third of ten nights at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford on the Born in the U.S.A. Tour.

2003: Bruce and the E Street Band play their first of three Rising Tour nights at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, where fans enjoy the first full-band “Lost in the Flood” of the tour.

2018: Springsteen on Broadway resumes its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City after an almost two-week break. In attendance tonight: Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followell.
