New for 2023: Audio for 1977

1973: Bruce and the E Street Band perform a free concert at Niagara University in Lewiston, New York.

1974: Bruce cancels a scheduled gig at Glassboro State College to make room for recording sessions for Born to Run.

1977: When Southside Johnny takes ill and can’t perform, Steve Van Zandt transforms their show in Red Bank into The Asbury Park All-Star Revue, featuring the Jukes, Bruce and the E Street Band, and Ronnie Spector. Steve performs lead vocals for most of the show, with Bruce on guitar and backing vocals. Bruce steps up to the mic when the band plays his own songs.

1984: Bruce and the band rehearse for the upcoming Born in the U.S.A. Tour at the former home of Big Man’s West in Red Bank, New Jersey.

1987: The BBC premieres a new documentary on Bruce, entitled Glory Days. It’s well worth a watch–check it out below.

Also today, Little Steven releases his third solo album, Freedom–No Compromise. Bruce contributes vocals to one track, “Native American.”

1997: Bruce plays his first-ever show in the Czech Republic, an acoustic show at Prague’s Congress Center.

2003: The Rising Tour makes a stop in Brussels, and Bruce pulls out the tour premiere of “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)” for the occasion. The show opener is special as well: an beautiful acoustic version of “The River.”

2006: Bruce and the Sessions Band deliver one of the best shows of the early Seeger Sessions Tour in Milan. Check out highlights below, including the tour premiere of “Ramrod” and a beautiful “If I Should Fall Behind.”

2007: At a benefit show for the Count Basie Theater Foundation in Red Bank, Bruce joins Brian Wilson on stage for “Barbara Ann” and “Love and Mercy.”

2009: At the United Center in Chicago, fans witness the E Street Band premiere of “Mony Mony.”

2011: Bruce and Patti attend Jessica’s equestrian competition in Windsor, England.

2012: Bruce and the band play a short warm-up show/soundcheck in Seville before kicking off the European leg of the Wrecking Ball Tour.

2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.
