New for 2024: Review for 2008; video for 2016

1973: Bruce and the band open for Blood, Sweat and Tears in Santa Monica.

1974: Bruce and the band play two shows at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. The first show’s set list features the entire Wild & Innocent album, the last known such occurrence for 35 years. The late show is broadcast on campus radio and features the last performance of “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)” with its original lyrics until 2005.

1985: Bruce shoots the video for “I’m on Fire” with director John Sayles in Hollywood.

1988: The Tunnel of Love Express Tour rolls on to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill for the first of two nights.

1996: Bruce plays “The Wish” for the first time ever in Europe at a solo acoustic show at Edinburgh Playhouse in Scotland. Listen to a post-show radio interview below.

2008: The Magic Tour comes to the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario.

2016: The River Tour (2016 edition) moves on to Milwaukee and the BMO Harris Bradley Center, while The Essential Bruce Springsteen is certified as 2x Platinum.

2018: At tonight’s performance of Springsteen on Broadway, Bruce discovers the one attendee who can electrify the crowd as much as the star of the show: former president Barack Obama. Dion DiMucci is in attendance as well.
