New for 2024: Video for 2014; new entry for 2023

1968: The Castiles (Bruce’s first band) play a gig at The Left Foot in Bruce’s hometown of Freehold.

1973: Bruce and the band continue their five-night stint at The Quiet Knight in Chicago, opening for The Persuasions.

1974: Bruce and the band play a sold-out show at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, Virginia.

1981: On the River Tour, the E Street Band makes a stop at the University of Notre Dame. In the second set, Bruce pulls out back-to-back tour premieres: “Double Shot (of My Baby’s Love)” (after teaching the lyrics to the band during intermission) and “Louie Louie.”

1985: During intermission at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, the United Steelworkers of America recognize and honor Bruce’s contributions to food banks along the Born in the U.S.A. Tour.

1996: Bruce plays solo at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas, debuting “State Trooper” for the first time on the Ghost of Tom Joad Tour.

2014: The High Hopes Tour kicks off in Cape Town South Africa, with the live debut of “Free Nelson Mandela” and the concert premieres of “Heaven’s Wall.” Tom Morello joins the E Street Band for this show and will remain a touring band member throughout the entire tour. 2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.

2023: Bruce and the E Street Band rehearse for their upcoming world tour at Cure Insurance Arena in Trenton.

  1. The pro-shot videos from S.A.–“Heaven’s Wall”/rehearsal and “Free Nelson Mandella”–are thrilling. Steven is one joyous mood during “Mandella”!
