New for 2023: Video for 2009

1973: Bruce plays his first-ever show in New Hampshire when he and the band play a show at Franklin Pierce College.

1974: Bruce and the E Street Band play a show at the Dickinson College Dining Hall in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

1975: Determined not to be out-scooped by each other, both Time and Newsweek feature Bruce on the cover of their latest issue, the first time any rock star can boast that. Surprise and conspiracy theories rule the day.

1980: The River Tour moves on to the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver.

1994: Bruce and Neil Young make a guest appearance for two songs (“Rainy Day Women #12 & 35” and “Highway 61 Revisited“) at Bob Dylan’s show at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City.

1995: Bruce once again joins Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers at their show at Nick’s Fat City in Pittsburgh. The show is broadcast live on the radio, and much of the show will be officially released 26 years later on the 25th anniversary edition of American Babylon. (Get it here!)

2002: At the Velodrom in Berlin on the Rising Tour, Bruce and E Street Band tour premiere “The Promise” late in the set, the first time that song is performed in Europe.

2005: Bruce tour premieres “The Fever” at his solo acoustic show at the DCU Center in Worcester.

2009: Bruce plays his 36th and final show at the Philadelphia Spectrum, performing the Born in the U.S.A. album in its entirety–but that’s not even close to the show’s top highlight. Bruce opens with a true shocker–the first “The Price You Pay” in 28 years–and wraps the set with a by-request audible of “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” that ranks as one of the best performances (IMO, anyway) of the modern era. The tour premiere of “Save the Last Dance for Me” also makes an appearance in the encore, and Vini Lopez makes a guest appearance on “Spirit in the Night.” This show is available as part of Bruce’s official archive series–get it here.

2016: As part of his promotional book tour, Bruce makes a special appearance at the Frankfurt Book Fair and is interviewed for a local television show.

2017: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.

2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. In attendance tonight: actor Chad Lowe.

2020: E Street Radio airs Episode 2 of Letter to You Radio, featuring conversations between Bruce, Eddie Vedder, and Dave Grohl.

2021: At the Javits Center in New York City, Bruce supports The Robin Hood Foundation with an acoustic set of “Working on the Highway,” “Dancing in the Dark,” and “Thunder Road.”
