New for 2023: Audio for 1974

1968: Earth plays a show at Le Teendezvous in New Shrewsbury, New Jersey.

1973: Bruce and the E Street Band play their fifth of five nights at Oliver’s in Boston in lieu of a scheduled but cancelled show at the University of Bridgeport.

1974: Bruce and the E Street Band play a show at Union College, in the school’s Memorial Chapel Concert Hall.

1975: Bruce and the E Street Band wrap up their four-night/six-show stand at the Roxy Theater in West Hollywood.

1984: The Recording Industry Association of America certifies Born in the U.S.A. triple platinum. By evening, Bruce has recovered enough from his flu to perform his rescheduled Born in the U.S.A. show in Tacoma. “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)” goes missing from the setlist for the first time in a decade.

1995: The American Babylon October Assault moves on to Philadelphia, where Bruce again joins Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers at their show at the Electric Factory. After the show, local WMMR-FM DJ Ed Sciaky (a longtime fan and supporter of Bruce) stops backstage to interview Joe and Bruce.

1996: Bruce plays his first and only show in New Mexico, a solo acoustic Ghost of Tom Joad Tour stop at the Kiva Auditorium in Albuquerque.

2001: Bruce joins a stellar line-up of talent (including Joan Jett, Joe Ely, Bon Jovi, Phoebe Snow, Max Weinberg, Patti Scialfa, Michelle Moore, and musical director Garry Tallent) for the second of two Alliance of Neighbors benefit concerts for the victims of the recent 9/11 attacks.

2004: Enjoy Every Sandwich: The Songs of Warren Zevon is released. Bruce contributes a track to the tribute album, his live 2003 performance of “My Ride’s Here.”

2006: Bruce and the Sessions Band arrive in Spain for a week of shows, starting with a night in Madrid.

2009: Bruce performs his penultimate show at the Philadelphia Spectrum, the third of four nights in this final stand. Bruce opens with a shocker–“When You Walk in the Room,” played here for the first time in 33 years. The setlist also features the first full-band “I Wanna Marry You” in 27 years and the on-stage debut of “Philly Elvis” (a.k.a Nick Ferraro) for the tour premiere of “All Shook Up.” Oh and not for nothing, the show also includes a full album performance of Born to Run. 2012: Bruce kicks off the final North American leg of the Wrecking Ball Tour with a show at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, where “Queen of the Supermarket” receives only its second-ever performance, and its first in a solo acoustic arrangement.

2016: At his hotel in London, Bruce sits down for interviews with local journalists as part of his promotional book push, including an appearance on The Late, Late Show.

2017: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.

2018: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City, and Bruce releases a new song, a cover of “If I Had a Hammer,” on an anniversary compilation for Appleseed Records. The song was recorded during the Seeger Sessions in 2006.

2019: Bruce surprises a hometown crowd by introducing two screenings of Western Stars at the Freehold AMC Theater.

2020: As the release of Bruce’s Letter to You album nears, promotional activities ramp up. Today, Bruce appears on The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music, and E Street Radio airs Episode 1 of Letter to You Radio, featuring conversations with Bruce, Clive Davis, and Jon Landau.
