1972: Clarence Clemons plays his final show with Norman Selden’s Joyful Noyze at the Club Plaza in Bayville, New Jersey. Four days later, he will perform as a member of Bruce Springsteen’s new band.
1974: Bruce postpones a scheduled show at Camden County College to exactly a month later.
1984: Bruce and the E Street Band play their first of two Born in the U.S.A. shows at the Oakland Coliseum, with his parents in attendance.
1992: Bruce and his new touring band play their first of two nights at Mountain View’s Shoreline Amphitheater.
1994: Bruce joins John Eddie, Greg Kihn, Marshall Crenshaw, and Elliott Murphy on stage at The Playpen in Sayreville, New Jersey.
1995: Bruce joins Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers for their second of two shows at Nick’s Fat City in Pittsburgh, where Bruce plays “Gimme Shelter” in full for the first and only time. “Rebel Music” will eventually be released on Grushecky’s October Assault CD, and several songs from this show will be released on the 25th anniversary re-issue of American Babylon.
1996: Bruce plays a solo acoustic show at Arizona State University in Tempe, where local resident Nils Lofgren makes a guest appearance for “No Surrender.”
1999: Bruce and the reunited E Street Band play their third of four nights at the brand-new Staples Center in Los Angeles.
2000: Bruce, Patti, Max, and Jon Bon Jovi perform a cover set at a charity benefit/auction for Special People United to Ride of Monmouth County (a non-profit that supports horseback riding for disabled children) at Hedgerow Farm in Middleton, New Jersey. Bruce auctions off a guitar and a one-hour lesson, personally raising $80,000 for the event.
2005: Bruce plays a solo acoustic show at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, where he plays “Atlantic City” on acoustic guitar for the first time on the tour.
2006: Bruce and the Sessions Band continue their Spanish tour with a show in Valencia, debuting their cover of “Love of the Common People.”
2007: Bruce and the E Street Band bring the Magic Tour to Chicago’s United Center for the first of two nights.
2012: Bruce and the band play a Wrecking Ball show at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, where Bruce tour premieres “Terry’s Song” in tribute to an 11-year-old girl who recently passed away.
2017: Springsteen on Broadway continues its theatrical run at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City.
2019: Bruce appears on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as part of his promotional tour for Western Stars.
2020: E Street Radio airs Episode 3 of Letter to You Radio, featuring a conversation between Bruce and Brandon Flowers. That evening, Bruce appears on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
